It does say that if you want to give it as a gift you pay abit extra to get the giftcard though to give it as a gift£100 - £10,0000 -
Ahhh, I suspect miamoo is right.
If you want to give it as a gift you need to spend £4.50 on the gift pack, otherwise they will allocate YOU to YOUR nearest salon.
So I still think it won't work for those buying the FREE ones as gifts (unless they are nice enough to transfer the names and the receiver lives near you but I have a feeling they won't do that for free if it's £4.50).0
