Hello all!

I am looking to buy either a Nokia 5800, N97 or N97 mini

Just wondering which everyone thought was the best and also where was the best place to buy it?

I have spent hours looking at dial a phone and mobiles.co.uk but am really wary of mobiles.co.uk after reading some of the posts on this site!

I'm also looking for it to be on vodafone as I have a vodafone sim I want to use in it (long story!) Just to clarify I'm looking to buy this on Pay monthly tarrif as my OH will be using the sim in his phone (i'm mean aren't i)

Any help or ideas appreciated please :D Thank you in advance :)

    which is the best.. neither.. i'm not a fan of nokia's, they've really gone nowhere in the past few years with the UI, and build quality, since Apple and HTC, (Android OS) have some into the marketplace.

    If I had to pick, N97 mini, because i think the 5800 is a bit !!!!!!...
  • Which phone is best is a personal choice - on the face of it:
    the N97 has 32Gb memory (Mini is expandable to 24Gb) compared to the 5800's (expandable to) 16Gb;
    the N97s have a QWERTY keyboard as well as being touch screen (the N97 being slightly larger than the Mini and 5800);
    the N97 has a better camera, etc

    However, the N97 is a more expensive phone so your deals aren't going to be so good.

    Mobiles.co.uk provide some cracking deals and they processed and delivered my phones very quickly, however, and this applies to all contract providers, be sure to check exactly what you're getting even to asking them to confirm by email before you commit; make sure you understand the terms of any cash back deals, for example. All providers have been knocked here for customer support in the event that something doesn't run smooth.
  • To be honest I really am swayed towards the N97/mini, Was only really thinking of the mini as its supposidly better than the N97?!

    The best deal I have seen for this is from mobiles.co.uk and is

    Your Plan 600
    £10 Discount
    (24 months) 600 minutes + Unlimited Texts with Vodafone Passport

    £25.00 a month and pay £9.99 for the phone

    It really is a bit more than I was looking to spend, I can't seem to find any cheaper deals that offer less mins and texts! We don't really need all that allowance. I'd be more suited to 100 mins and maybe 500 texts but can't seem to find a decent price for that! I'm also taking into consideration cash back etc. The 5800 I can get really cheap ie £15 a month with £90 cashback I just don't want to be a cheap skate and buy it only to be disappointed!

    You can get it on buymobilephones.net from £15 a month.

    Added - sorry phone costs with that but check the site still.

    I have been waiting 3 weeks for a phone to arrive from Dialaphone.
    They do not know what has happened to it,but refuse to send another.
    They tell me they cannot replace it until they have done an investigation,but they cannot give me any idea how long that will take....meanwhile I now have to get the money put back into my bank account as it has been taken out and paid to O2 already. And yes I have checked with O2 and the phone has not been used,so is not in the wrong hands.
    Apparently you cannot cancel until you receive the phone. This is really an unhelpful situation for the customer,and although most of the staff have been pleasant,they have been unable to offer any real solution. To summarise:
    When the investigation is complete,which could take weeks,they will send me a phone to replace the one they have lost. If in the meantime I have looked elsewhere for a contract,I can then return it and cancel!
