Just under 3 weeks ago, I started to get a sore throat, which turned into a nasty cold and then a cough. The cold has now gone, but the sore throat remains. It died down for a few days, but on Monday, it got bad again and now I cannot swallow without a really bad pain. I have to take this medication I got that numbs my throat just to swallow.

I hate doctors which is why I haven't gone yet, but it's got so bad now that I might have to drag myself there. I have a huge phobia of doctors... I don't want them to turn around and say I've got to have my tonsils out (which is where I think the pain is coming from).

Sounds like you need antibiotics, you'll have to go.

I applied to Vanquis 12 days ago and haven't heard anything yet. Is it a good thing that they haven't said 'no' yet, or is it fairly meaningless that they've not got back to me?
