TBH until that CCJ is older you may still have difficulty getting mainstream. The other one you could add to your list of sub prime cards is the Aqua card, unfortunately even Barclaycard Initial is unlikely with the CCJ there, but you could always use the Barclaycard pre-application checker to see if it's viable:

Good luck, and keep us posted :o

How long would you say until the ccj stops becoming too much of a hinderance?

Isn't the Diners Card a charge card? I can't think of anywhere which accepts it either.

    Sorry my bad

CCJ is from 07/06, so just over 3 yrs old at the minute, it has been marked as satisfied for 2

CCJ will affect you for 6 years until it drops off. Settled or not, its still one of the worse adverse categories you can get (after b/r)... ;)

So long as the CCJ remains it'll be sub prime or your own bank primarily, not many main stream lenders will offer you due to risk

    From the application form:

The Diners Club Card is a charge card and not a credit card. Therefore,
there is no pre-set limit on the amount you can spend when using your card.

You must pay an annual fee of £50 for your Diners Club card and a further
annual fee of £19 for each Diners Club card in the name of a supplementary
    card holder.

CCJ's stay 6 yrs from date of entry onto your credit file.

Apparantly some lenders only go back 4 yrs when credit checking provided there are no late/missed payments or adverse data within that time, otherwise they go back the whole 6 yrs.

    hope this helps.

You mean 3 years and not 4 years??

The CapitalOne Progress card hasn't been mentioned on here much. It seems sub-prime. It starts off at the same interest rate as the classic, however the longer you have the card, the lower the interest rate goes, to the lowest being 19.9%.

It seas you need a good credit history with no CCJ's or Defaults within the last 12 months.

I would apply, but I already have a classic card and am on a 'no search' sabbatical.

    That is incorrect.
