Hey girl, i'll deffo join you too. Got into MASSIVE SCARY debt at uni and has taken me years to sort out (and one debt I'll pay off til I'm long gone but heigh ho!) Anyway this site is AMAZING, it really helps and it'll definetely be nice for you to live alone. I do and I love it. I worked overseas and lived with many a random but this is bliss! Good luck and XXX'The road to a friends house is never long'0

hey souk, yeah its really easy to get into debt at uni, what with loans not actually covering enough to live then really hard to get out of it

well after thinking yesterday was bad today has got way way worse!! stupid people at work  made me so mad ive actually booked tomorrow off work! im going to relax, do some packing, focus on the good stuff and go back fighting on monday...... Im not gonna let someone basically having a temper tantrum over being told off then behaving like a child get me down!!
been pretty useless on the money front today too! ended up buying some more random rubbish in the shop then getting maccy d's for tea! so so bad!
I now have a bit of a dilemma! one of my really really good friends is getting married in may and ive already found out to stay in the hotle is gonna cost me a total of £142 and thats only b&b prices  Ive just worked out her hen wknd at end of jan is gonna cost me around £200 :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek: so i have absolutely no idea how im going to pay for any of that! and i really want to go, I havent seen her or about three years because we live so far away and i never have any money to visit and her dad died about two months ago so its all gonna be a hard day for her despite the joy of getting married so I need to work out how im going to save enough money to pay for all that! The girl im sharing a room with for the wedding has offered to pay the 50% deposit and said that i can pay for the rest when we actually go, which gives me time to sort that out and more time to save for it....... but the hen wknd is gonna be really hard! however £100 of the price is for three nights and food included. Its gonna cost me about £60 to get there, the other £40 is because altho we are in a cottage we are bound to end up out somewhere and they have a booked a beautician to come and do pamper stuff which everyone else is doing! I think im just going to have to book the very cheapest 15 min treatment for £12 and try to ignore everyone else having a great time!!!! Its so expensive even going to weddings now, I have three major weddings to go to in 2010... this one in may, then one of my oldest and bestest mates is getting married in sept, luckily they are getting married in carlisle so all it will cost me is something to wear (and i actually intend to have the same outift for both weddings as they are two very seperate groups of people and I have a dress I have hardly worn cos i lost wieght that I might just get altered!) but her hen wknd is going to be a cottage in the lakes and activity stuff so not cheap either! Then my brother is getting married......... so hen nights (altho my future sil has said she just wants a few treatments and a nice meal in carlisle) then hotel and the worst of all is that i offered to pay for my own bridesmaid dress  but sh knows all about money probs so has said it wont be anything expensive!!! then you have to add all the gifts on top and i reckon Ill be end up spending a small fortune
Im sure someone will prob say simple just dont go, its not a necessity but I really want to!! So any ideas on how to raise enough cash very quickly, lots of cash that will come in soon to pay for all of this lol!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
God Ive just realised pretty much all my posts have been me basically complaining!! I definitely need this time off tomorrow!! may well give myself a little pampering treatment, esp as ive had to cancel my massage despite really needing it
oh well! Its all for a very good cause seeing as I should find out very soon when my moving date is and then i wont care that i have no money as Ill be in my own lovely little flat :j:D:j:D:j 0 -
well ive been a bit rubbish this week
def spent more than i meant to on things i didnt really need at the min like random food and lunches so determined to do better this week  I only managed one NSD and that was mainly because i hadnt been paid so had nothing to spend!
Anyway for the rest of this month there is no treat budget and no going off having fun..... but fingers crossed ill have a moving date tomorrow so will be able to focus on that and not on being stuck in my horrible house  or being peed off at work and be in my own space :j:j:j:j:j:j
have kind of started packing, but its a bit difficult as i have so much stuff in my room that i cant really pack properly until ive moved some stuff out..... whoever said moving was one of the most stressful things in life ever was sooooo right!
so this week I need to not waste money during the working day, i must pack everything and keep hassling the letting agents, and keep trying to find people to help me actually move! and i seriously need to stop letting everything and everyone bother me cos i cant be doing with any more rubbish off anyone this week!
and on the positive side its nearly christmas :snow_laug yay! :j0 -
Good positive attitude Allis! Hope your week goes well and good luck with the NSD. I nearly had one (wow i hear you say!) last week but then spent 35p on a choc bar. Ailsa good luck and well done on the positive thinking girl. Just typed a massive rant on the subject of weddings/hen nights but it makes me sound like a right miser so I've deleted it! X'The road to a friends house is never long'0

thanks! I have my def move date now :j:j:j:j its friday 4ht... so very close now
:D cant wait lol!
just got so much to organise now its ridiculous
oh well will be worth it in the end.... however turns out despite what insurances complanies have said because my flat was flooded in the horrific 2005 floods in carlisle i cant get any contents cover at the min so its all become more complicated than just going online! typial eh lol!!
Well i sometimes think that people expect too much from weddings... like i know its the couples day and all that but if you have your wedding in a very very expensive hotel then how can you expect people to be able to afford to do everything else! I suspect i wont be buying a pressie for most weddings im going to this year... just plain cant afford it! on a positive money note but otherwise rubbish note my brother and his fiance are having to put thier wedding back as they cant afford it right now :-( saves me cash in 2010 but have to wait for thier fab wedding and to be able to say sister in law officially
I must admit i love the whole bit from Sex and the city where carrie has her im getting married to me party as she has spent so much on weddings and baby showers over the years.... Im thinking if im single much longer i may do the same :rotfl::rotfl:
still im heading into under pressure crazy action with the move thing so that should keep me going over the next few days!!

How exciting Ailsa - this Friday!! You'll be surrounded by boxes and eating fish and chips out the paper whilst watching X Factor on Saturday!!
I agree with you about the weddin thing. It turns out to be soooo expensive. Maybe you could write a poem for the couple (as cheesey as it sounds!!), handwrite it and put it on some lovely paper to put in their wedding book thing. At least it would have lots of meaning, unlike buying them a couple of bookends!!
Enjoy the pressure, it'll be worth it!

thanks! Well my sky will be fitted on sat so will be sat watching strictly
got some of the girls coming round (hopefully) to help with moving etc! just got a million other phone calls to make and soooo much stuff to pack
however im sat in my bed cos its warm watching telly and playing on here instead.... hmmmm maybe better get some of it done tonight
still stressful as it is at least im just renting so slightly less to worry about and it will be over soon! four more sleeps :j:j:j:j (I shall be doing that a lot in the flat on friday!)
on the weddings thing i think im going to try something along those lines, or see if anyone else is getting something to see if we can share the cost? luckily i have til may to get something sorted! My friend is quite into glass with stuff painted on so i might do something like that! maybe two cheap champagne flutes with their initials and wedding date on? hmmmmm maybe an mse (ish) idea :rotfl:0 -
LOL it was the Carrie Bradshaw thing that I was typing about but deleted! i.e 'I'm never getting married or having kids so please can you pay for my choices?!!!' XXX'The road to a friends house is never long'0

its true tho! i mean i might never get married or have kids (esp not the way things are going at the min :rotfl:) i reckon if i tried that on my mates they would just laugh and not bother lol! but then they are mostly engaged or living with their oh and prob will be engaged soon! I might try living my life the satc way when i move :rotfl:oh i want to go home and watch it now!
still ive got a good job i love (most of the time!) and soon to have my very own place so things cant be all bad :rotfl:am prob about 75% packed now! my room looks like a bombs hit it tho
