problems with new santander online credit card service

    I opened a House of Fraser credit card with Santander a few months ago. I had all these problems too. Absolute bloody nightmere!

    Took me several days, loads of phone calls to get through the "techical issues". Unless you're closing an account the people on the other end of the phone can barely speak a word of English.

    In the end googled for help and found out the website wont work on a MAC.

    Just brilliant.

    As soon as the balance transfer is paid off i'm closing the account.
  • I went through all the lengthy and ridiculously over elaborate procedures to get online at Santander to be greeted by a technical fault message asking me to ring an 0845 number, something I was trying to avoid in the first place. 4 secure emails from me only got a reply 6 days later, just acknowledging the receipt of the email first AARRGGHHH! So I go down to my local branch to have to ring myself (staff there don't even know the number to ring business banking) And the reason for the technical problem, apparently I have gone through the personal part of the website.(I don't have nor have I ever had a personal account at Santander) AAAARRGHHHHH! I have since checked and I don't see if this is true as I checked the 'business' word at the top of the page and I got through in the usual way. And for that matter a website that can't differentiate between a business account and a personal one is not worth the pixels it is made of. So I wait to get more stuff in the post and try again. Ho Hum. How can a bank so large and while spending so much money on advertising be so incapable?

    Updating this older post as I've HAD to change to Santander internet banking from Alliance & Leicester.

    Result - doesn't work :mad: so I am now closing my current account with them rather than faff about trying to get round their non-working system.

    Wonder how many months it'll take before I can close it?


    Edited to say it's not a credit card - posted on wrong forum. (i'm as bad as Santander!).
