This is ridiculous. Story is, received new card, got Internet ID over the phone, security no. through the door 10 days later (literally). Tried it. 99.9% sure I put right numbers in, failed, call us. Rang, weird woman over explaining everything had me on the phone for 27mins, she's sending out a new number, server issues, received new number yesterday, tried it, failed like before, then ANOTHER number through the door today! ??????? Tried that one and it's giving me the same error. I actually don't think you can manage your Santander Card online!

    SORT IT OUT SPANISH!!!!!!! :mad::mad::mad:

Read choc_mouse's post above - the workaround he/she has posted really works!!! And will sort out your problems. But you're right it is a shambles!

I'm having a similar problem with on-line banking for my ISA.
I get the codes, log in. It then asks me to change the codes, I do this. Then I am logged in. Great.

BUT after I log out neither the old nor the new codes will work!!

Does anybody know a work around for this? Is it possible NOT to change the codes next time round and would that work?

I can't believe that they still haven't resolved this problem; I am a new Santander credit card customer and I keep getting an error message when trying to log in. I'm dreading the thought of having to spend god-knows-how-long on the phone to their drones! Sort it out you cretins.....or else you'll forfeit the World Cup!

I'm having the same problem, Got a new card through, registered for ebanking, got a reg number and a passcode (both seperately through post over 3 weeks). When I tried 2 weeks ago, the notification banner on Santanders website read my card was not yet valid and couldnt be used until the 30th of september.

Fair enough I thought, so waited patiently a further 2weeks until today. That 30th of september message has now disappeared and been replaced with this:

' This card is not yet valid to access eBanking. We will confirm online when you can start using your new card number'. :rotfl:

    - ed, Did actually phone the helpline, they issued me with a new number, input that on the login page, tried to confirm my details
wouldnt accept anything I typed in - I give up.
  • I always hear problems about this bank, remind me to never use their banking services.
  • I've had this cra* from them too- I can log on now and the final hurdle is the password that doesn't work, is now locked(curious as it's never worked!!) and thus I can't set up a direct debit yet to make fixed payments to the 16months interest free/no fee balance transfer I did. It does seem indeed like they are trying to get people to default on paying by making it so hard, then they will probably rate jack us...
I tried using my CB online to set up a DD for a fixed payment but this is as bad. Think I can do one offs but I looked for payment details and it came up on Santanders site as sort code 09-00-99, account 01000007, plus my card number to make a payment. Using my CB site this brings up details for Abbey Mastercard and Visa???!!!
a search says Santander was Abbey and B&Bingley so is this code still valid?

Your can't register online for credit card, pity the website doesn't tell you that.

Registered over the phone waited a week, password entered and apparently incorrect, phoned up and ordered another, eventually got that and it worked but then would not allow me to do a Balance Transfer.

Ended up doing BT's over the phone!

    Very painful indeed!

I havent been able to access mine for over a year! The log ons I had initially worked, then they stopped working, and when I called, they told me they didnt know why, and that their system wouldnt let them generate another passcode for my account, some kind of migration problem. I gave up in the end, and just use their telephone system, which is just as crap, as it doesnt actually give you a list of transactions! Absolutely useless bunch of ****s!
Debt free and staying that way!
  • I just paid off my current account, and both my cards of theirs and ran screaming never to return....................
