And a very important £5 a week too - but that can come out of the grocery budget, surely? Presumably you are saving a fortune on alcohol now?
Yes it can. Surprisingly, I'm not saving loads - I think I was spending a lot of 'extra' money - like money from my dad covered some of it (gifts at christmas and that) and then any extra money I had from back dated council tax benefit and stuff like that.

I've just had a play around with tax credits - money spent on childcare went down from £400 to £250 in September - I fear they've been overpaying me - groan. My fault completely. Will ring tomorrow as can't go to work with ear like this. :( I actually DO want to get back to work, this ear is so annoying!!!

So, if you can just keep focused on what is coming in and going out, you will make serious inroads into the debt etc. And that is what we are all here for - to [STRIKE]nag[/STRIKE] encourage you when you need it :D

Ok, so with the more focused, DFW mind I had a good look at my christmas list - now I've cut down to the basics and also made deals with friends that we'll only spend such and such or limit to one sendable pressie which is great. I've got Will's pressie already and just got 2 little pressies for Sophia from ebay cheap - sewing kits for 99p. I wanted to buy her her own flashy sewing kit, with all the stuff she needs, but think I'm just going to make her one up instead and sew a little needle book and that so the costs will be just a few pounds - she'll love it I'm sure. :) Will find a cheap place to get needles and that from - pound shops probably have all that stuff, but will decant into a nice box...will search through cupboards for one I can glam up :) Creative thinking is the way I'll have to go now I think!! So any suggestions would be great for any presents - charity shops are being raided too :D

Thanks Hypno - great advice as always! :D

Hello Sea! Lovely to see you back and a big WELL DONE on kicking the drinking. A new bf too - how exciting! Really hope all works out well with his tumour. And your debt total looks nice and manageable - I look forward to watching it shrink.

hi Sea sorry to hear you're still off. You're so right it's always so much easier to clean through and do things at other people houses, i think it's because it's generally always appreciated there whereas when you're at home no one notices.
Shame my OH left it out in the rain otherwise i had a small wicker sewing basket that i would have sent you for Sophia, but i just spotted yesterday that it's ruined.

Thanks LT :) I'm hoping I can find one in a charity shop - seen them therebefore, failing that a pound shop :) Got a great template to use that I found online that'll be lovely for her.

Off to take bf to hospital for ear check and then to take Sophia to Rainbows.
