Our nearest Costco (Watford/Bushey) always looks at the card. I've seen people being turned away on several occasions.

That might be the reason why I have no problem - as long as the member is there! I always pay first.

Is it a good friend you've borrowed the card from? If so, they can put you on their account for you to get your own card which costs £14 per year, then you won't need to worry about getting caught! :T
