I use MK too and they always check the photo on the door and at the till, i've used my partners debit card to pay no problem though, although they have a cash point right behind the tills there anyway, hth.

You might get away with someone elses card if you look a bit like them and pay cash.

BUT - the till says "Costco welcome Mr Smith" in bright lights - so if you tried to pay with a Debit card for Mr Jones (no credit cards at Costco), they would see very easily you were not Mr Smith.
  • I have a card and took my brother last week. He paid for stuff on his debit card (using my membership card) and then I paid for mine afterwards. They didn't seem to care at all! I suppose it would depend on who served you but it is often so busy in there I'd imagine they are more focused on just getting people through quickly.

My local branch always look at the photo on way in and at tills take both my debit card and membership card to make sure they match

Ours in sheffield does too, including when you get to the till

    I wish I was a glow worm, a glow worm's never glum
Cos how can you be gloomy, when the sun shines out your bum? :D
  • I've just been on the phone to my local store and they seemed very eager to try and help me get a card. they said that my company needed to be on the list (which it wasn't) then they said they would send a team out to my company to sign me up if it was within 25 miles of the store (I'm 35 miles away). then they said just bring some company ID (letterheads, invoices, company leaflets etc)

Overall they really did try. might be worth seeing if you can get a legit membership card?
  • i have taken friends who have used their cards to pay for items. ive been alongside them.

also i have gone to the canteen and left hubby to pay and they have sed they want to cardholder so i normally just give them a wave. probably an idea if u dnt want them to look at u too closely!
