  • The orginal debt was only for £108 which was paid last week. Screen 27 says 0.0000. Why did they promise us that it would be sorted after 5 topups max? They now owe us money...£28 after 9 topups.

I am confused as the meter should automatically stop taking any debt when screen 27 shows 0. How did it take more debt?

Thats the whole point, it should not be taking it. Every time we top up its still taking 70%. Plus it takes for emergency credit which we dont even get that?? When we phone they say it will be sorted but they keep moving the goalposts:rolleyes:

I have never heard of this before so doubt if a new card would stop this. Has anyone given you a reason for this happening?

No, so can you see why im getting frustrated. They keep saying put more money on every day & eventually we should be sorted. We cannot aford to put any more on this week as have spent about £140 this week & still have no heating or hot water. 9 topups so far.

Something is not right. You only need to top up £1 to pick up a message. I would ask them to find out what the problem is. Confirm that your meter serial number is correct and request they call Siemens to find out why your message has not been picked up. Can you print the info from your screens 1 and 3 and 26 here so I can see what may be happening?

As for asking them to find out what the problem is, i have been for the last week..

    Hi Thanks

As your screen 27 shows no debt the only thing that I can think of is that your meter is recalibrating. All units of gas during the day are charged at the lower rate. In the early hours it makes up the difference for the higher rates. If you have no credit on the meter this will show up as a debt. Usually it is not noticed when people are in credit but it cannot take the funds either if you go into emergency credit or have no money on the meter.

I am still confused though as the 2 amounts you have given do not add up to £1.
Did you ever have charges for letters etc before the meter was installed as this would be set to take back an amount each week as well as any debt programmed onto the meter at 70%. Could it be that you have paid off the main debt but not the charges? Sorry but I cannot remember which screen those charges would show up on.

  • Out of the £1 we put on ...58p debt , 22p emg credit.. 20p for gas. The other thing is ,we do not get any emg credit out of the money they take for it. There is no standing charge so if we use no gas how can we owe any money for it? The meter was free & no charges for letters.
