I came across this site this week, this little girl suffers from the same form of Cancer as Sophie Atay who has been on the news lately.
They need to raise at least 300k by the end of this year.

Thanks. I made a donation here instead of to Children in Need as it's good to know exactly where the money is going. I wish them success, she looks a very sweet and bright little girl.

Thats what I am going to do too. I saw how much Children in Need has raised and though it is a worthy cause, Robyn only needs a fraction of that and needs it within weeks.
I'm going to arrange a collection at work this week, we have over 300 people so even a £1 each would make a difference.Lightbulb moment Dec 2005 - debt £23700

I'm donating to this child in need this year.

I just wanted to say a massive thank you to anyone who has donated to Robyn since reading this thread.
I do not know Robyn or her family but do have a daughter the same age as her so would hope that if I was ever in their position, people would help me too.
Robyn does have a Facebook page which is updated with other fundraising news if anybody is interested.Lightbulb moment Dec 2005 - debt £23700

I always think its an incredible shame for children when they are so seriously ill.
I do always wonder though if this is one reason why people should get private helathcare insurance, would they have footed the bill in this instance I wonder. When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0 -
My own experience of insurers is that they will do anything to avoid paying out, whatever the circumstances - like all businesses, they prioritise profits for their shareholders above all else
Just had a peep at the lassie's page, and the donations are coming in nicely :T Hope they reach the target in good time. Go Robyn!Official DFW Nerd No 096 - Proud to have dealt with my debt!0 -
How much are the family contributing does anyone know? When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0

I sent an email to almost everyone I knew and they also made donations ranging from £5 up to £100. It's a terrible time of year for anyone to part with spare cash but glad that people could spare what they could. Really hope they get the cash they need for the treatment - can't even begin to imagine what the family are going through.0

Agreed. Good people are digging deep for a good cause.
I wonder how deep the family dug. When dealing with the CSA its important to note that it is commonly accepted as unfit for purpose, and by default this also means the staff are unfit for purpose.0
