firstchoice/thomsom forgot to tell us about construction going on

On the first choice website as you were processing your booking there would have been something to click on that would have told you about the building work you then have the choice to carry on booking or pick a different hotel. Had you booked with a travel agent they would have told you at the time of booking about it or if you booked ages ago they would have sent you a letter as soon as they had found out.
As you didnt report it to the rep at the time so they could rectify it i dont think you'll get anything as they'll say you obviously werent that bothered and as for the transfer yes its bad but you didnt miss the flight so all you'll probably get there is an apology, could be wrong.

Having read other recent reviews on TA no-one else has mentioned the building work so it is entirely possible that it has only just started and the tour operator was not aware of the situation before you travelled.
