Don't bother. Rubbish rate, massive minimum (25k) and 90 day notice loss of interest!
Plenty more MUCH BETTER savings options out there.0 -

It's 90 days notice or loss of interest. If you provide 90 days' notice, there is no loss of interest.
The rate is, by definition, not rubbish (since it's the average of the 5 best paying similar accounts).
What are these "much better" options?0 -

NO THERE AREN'T!
By definition this account is always in the top 5 of savings products. Given the tendency of most banks to play bait and switch, this savings account is excellent, provided you don't need instant access.
Of course, if you don't have the £25k available then look elsewhere.
Their customer service is excellent, and makes Citi, Abbey etc. look like muppets. In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:0 -

Totally agree with D1zzy/ Jonbvn/Agsnu above. Love to hear about the much more much better rate accounts.
Plus of course it's not a 'bonus' account so no need to switch after a year when the bonus runs out.
(Yet it includes bonus accounts when calculating the average of the top 5).
You can only really beat this rate by either locking your cash away for much longer or switching regularly to use limited term bonuses.
NO loss of interest if you give notice, and you can even keep your cash on permenant notice in case you need it sooner than 90 days. After 85 days if you don't need it, just cancel the notice and give a new 90 day Notice!0 -
Out of interest (no pun intended) if one had more money to invest, what are your views on a money market account versus this type of account?0
