Has anyone had any luck sprouting chickpeas? I bought a packet for sprouting rather than the ordinary cooking ones ( suspect I was ripped off there) Both times despite constant attention they started to ferment and then turn mouldy.
BTW is there any reason you can't sprout the products you buy for cooking, lentils, chickpeas etc., or is this just a marketing ploy?

I have always just used cooking ones.

    Hi all,

I have a bag of mung beans in the cupboard. Other that sprouting them what can I do?
  • I have to say I have only ever sprouted them and then added them to salads or chinese food, but I went and had a bit of an explore and found this website that has lots of mung bean recipes HERE.

When the page loads, just scroll down to find a list which you can then click on if you fancy any of them.

skaps have you tried sprouting them into beansprouts for salads and stirfry? They yield 9 times their original weight so you get a lot of bang for your buck!

    Hi Skaps :hello:

There's an earlier thread with lots of ideas for using mung beans that might help so I've added your question to it to keep the replies together.

    Thanks
