    I have no problem with BT, the online billing is accurate, the phone line always works.

    On the occassions when the line has been faulty they have repaired it rapidly. On one occassion the engineers appeared within 2 hours and located the fault in the street box. On the other due to a tree branch laded with heavy snow taking out the line they slipped and skidded though the snow in their vans and fixed it about a day later.
    On both occassions calls were diverted to my mobile and they kept me informed by text of progress on fixing the fault.

    My only gripe is that as a reasonably low user most if not all the costs per quarter are in the line rental rather than in the variable costs per use of calls made.
    BT are/will need to spend vast sums on money ugrading to fibre optic to the street cabinet. Additionally much of the copper network beyond that to individuals homes is in dire need of replacement. Indeed some of it is aluminum not copper and laid direct in the ground not in ducts meaning even more cost to replace and is anyway failing on a daily basis due to corrosion (well it was a cheap option at the time to use aluminium wasn't it.....).

    Perhaps we need to go back to the days went it was publically owned company when you could wait months for a line and I can remember when a fault on my line was not repaired for something like 2 weeks.........
