Aww I'm sorry, I had all my fingers crossed for you.
Overqualified! Idiots... what would they rather, someone they have to nurture and train... who then leaves and takes all that investment elsewhere?
I employ people and I look at it this way, I would rather have the most qualified and skilled person, I will let them be the judge of what they are overqualified for, not my place to say. If they leave in 6 months, fine, I have had the benefit of their skills for that time and I didn't need to expend a load of energy training them.
So, obviously that company is stupid and shortsighted and you are far too good for them.:A

If you didn't get it then it wasn't meant to be. Their loss, not yours. Something better will turn up - combination of a job you want AND a good salary!!!

Well, it's morning.
On the plus side, b/f was really fab. I was 'normal' at work all day and got to his place and had a good cry, and he'd even been out to buy cake. What a sweetie.
Currently I have a second interview in the next couple of weeks, which is a year's contract; and a slim chance of extension with current employment. (They have appointed a new director in my line of work, who will need 3 to 4 weeks to work out his plan and what staff he needs)
I am going to buff up cv for obscenely well paid jobs and mail all the agencies on Sunday. But tonight is girl's night out!!
I figure my 3 bits of bad luck are..
- pc exploded
- stepped on favourite sunglasses and broke them
- didn't get job.
That must be it, surely!!
so ...
- found new sunglasses in garage v cheap
- bargain new pc arrives saturday, sure it will be fab
- and surely a new job is heading my way soon!!!
I still have almost 2 months to go at this company, so 2 more fat paychecks. as I haven't paid off second loan, I can survive for 8 to 10 months on savings.. *surely* something will come up by then!!!
Thank you all for your support. It really does mean a lot to me. Sometimes you just can't have enough friends on board.Debt free 4th April 2007.

And another thing on the plus side, is that you have a huge amount of living costs stashed away if the worst happens.
Im sure you are the only person on this board who has that amount stashed away, and lets face it 8 months of being out of work for someone with your skills is VERY unlikely to happen.
Have a lovely  tonight and keep looking for the silver linings, there are plenty around you:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Yes well done on the savings. My savings wouldn't get us through breakfast on day 1 so huge pat on the back to you.
Something great is around the corner; things in life always seem to happen for a reason. Good luck with the second interview.:A
