We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Bookie accepts slapped wrist but stands firm. Still believe nice wrapping makes something reasonably priced look fantastic.

:o:oplease don't think I was slapping your wrist - wouldn't dare. and I agree nice wrapping does make a difference. One year I wrapped stuff in dark blue tissue paper, then covered in cellophane and sprinkled snowflake confetti between the two... looked gorgeous under the tree but I do believe I was cursed by a few folk who had their nicely hoovered carpet covered in the snowflakes:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:...

I know you're right Sal, it's just hard because if you take away all the dating stuff, he is really likeable. He is someone that would be a lovely friend.

I don't know anyone quite like him, he is absolutely unique, rather odd, very interesting, fantastic company. He is like a little throwback to a bygone era, so well brought up with proper, old-fashioned manners. He picks up litter in the park, and clears leaves from drains so the road doesn't flood. He has a huge general knowledge and immaculate grammar and spelling, very eloquent, and very very witty. He holds his arm out to me when we are walking, he holds doors for me. It's lovely to be treated like that.

    I just like him :o

I know hun and he does sound lovely and a proper gentleman but I remember well you could have written these same words after Shrek. I don't want to pee on your fire so to speak but I hate to see you have these highs and lows and be used by him when you are vunerable. I know he probably would be a fantastic friend but thats not what you want! You want more and that will ALWAYS get in the way :( I guess its whether you are prepared to hang around having the highs and lows putting your life on hold on the off chance that HE decides that the time is right. Its like he is making all the decisions and you have no control.

Now I feel like a cow for saying it and lets face it I never take my own advice :o
