You can also do most of the journey overground - Victoria line northbound one stop to Highbury & Islington, then get a stratford - clapham train which stops at west brompton. Takes longer (it's about 40 minutes from H&I to WB) but it's an option if you're not a fan of the tube.0

Thanks Everybody. Interesting to see a difference of opinion even amongst regular tube users!!
Will decide on arrival I think, as no clear obvious best route.
Cheers!
I find with the tube that there is very rarely a best route! If you pick one because it's usually quicker, it will be experiencing some kind of unexpected delay on that day. If you pick another because there's usually more seats, there will be a group of about 90 foreign school children on the carriage you pick. You cannot win with the tube, just hope and pray that you don't end up with your head in someone else's armpit for the majority of your journey, or that the man I regularly see on the Piccadilly line who dresses in assorted plastic bags and newspapers doesn't sit down next to you.0 -
Pic line trains (1973) are not designed for luggage, the rolling stock is only a couple of years older than the Vic stock. Very very old trains

.
This is not true. All vic line stock dates from 1967 which makes them older then the pic line trains.
