orange charging me for contract but not allowing me to use it

Hi

i would be grateful for comments or advice on the following.

at the end of last year i was going and still am through a sticky patch and was unable to pay my orange bill - as i did not pay the first one on time i then had two to pay - i was not allowed to use the service as i was in debt and not able to clear the debt - this is fair enough but now a year on - i am now in a position to clear this debt - i now owe though loads of money as they have charged me all the costs incurred for the contract time that i have not been able to use as they would not let me.

i do know i owe them money and am happy to pay for that - what i am not so happy about is that i have to pay about £500 the rest of the value of the contract yet i have not been able to use the service.

is it unfair to make me pay for something i was not allowed to use - surely i should either have been able to use it or if they felt they might be owed too much money - not charge me for what i have not been able to use.

would it be reasonable of me to say that i will pay my debt but not the contract charges that occured when orange would not let me use the service but that i am also happy to have the rest of the contract time back and fulfil my obligation to orange now that i can afford to pay them even though this does mean me having two phone numbers.

would like a view on my thoughts in case i am being unreasonable

thanks

If you default on the contract then the whole fee (for the term) becomes due. It's in the T&C's.

They are right in changing you and (I'm afraid) you have to pay it. Sorry..
