will solid fuel boiler burn wood

got an old solid fuel boiler the trianco type, it has a hopper fed at the front.

its been standing in my garage since i got it about 6 yrs ago,
but i've just got a guy who has lots of wood he must get rid of,
so i thought i may be able to burnwood in the boiler insead of coal.
its for outside use, so loading is no probelm

does anyone know if one of these solid fuel boilers will burn wood ?

Yes, it will burn it. Although wood should really get the air from above - rather than through the grate as for solid fuels.

Hope the wood is hardwood - or you'll be forever feeding it. If you're using it outside the normal caveat that the wood must be 'seasoned' - to stop tarring the chimney - doesn't really apply.
If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !
