If the occasion arose I would like a nice simple one like that - but I'd be scared to wear a few thousand pounds worth on my hand so cheaper is fine!

the one i bought was in the high hundreds but 75% off in the sale so circa £200 and something... and it's a carat or maybe a bit less...

and i was very pleased with it.

not sure about the whole 2 months salary or whatever the rule is....

    i mean who dictates that?!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

Pap - So pleased Thomas is home!

Never seen the attraction of engagement rings, didn't have one with DH (had one with ex but hardly wore it)...but then I'm not big on jewellery

Seems very strange that I waved DD's off to school this morning, then went to France for lunch, got back, have done a load of washing and now waiting for them to come home....almost like a time warp.

Brought loads and loads of wine in France but saved £135.40 based on current English Tesco prices :j Got lots of yummy things for tea too - french breads, cheeses, cold meats, pain-au-chocolat, nibbles, pate....my house smells like a deli counter :D

DD1 was once given a dollshouse for Christmas from a guy she worked with. Inside was a ring - cartier round the outside.

was that a proposal? or was it in there by accident?

Twas lovely to be out somewhere different - DH appreciated the change of scene and FIL was good company....Gorgeous weather too - we left murky grey skies and emerged into bright blue skies and lovely warm sunshine....
