Fill right to top set trip meter to 000. Drive 100 miles as normal may take some time if you only use a little a week. Fill up at 100 miles then work it out

"I am an insomniac, so I was really excited when I was able to get a full night's sleep. I said to a friend, 'Just keep your fingers crossed that I get lucky again tonight!' Realizing what I said, I tried to correct it and said, 'No, I mean, I just hope that I get some tonight!' After that, I decided to shut up."
  • roughly 60 - 70 miles when im not bothering about economy. on a run i can get 100 roughly in a 1.6 focus.

Hi all, I'm thinking whether I should get a newer car or stick my LPG, which I believe is real good valve. I read a post somewhere that the best way to work out your cars mpg was to fill you tank up, drive 100 miles then see how much it costs to refill.

Right I did it and my 1.6 Astra Estate LPG cost £10.51 to refill.

How much is your car doing?

What you should do, is run until completely empty, fill up with gas, reset to zero, run till completely empty again and work out what you get. Anything else is open to errors.

To answer your question though I get a 100 miles on £6 of LPG
A lot depends on how much you pay for LPG I get mine for 46p

Why not just measure how many miles you do between filling up and how much it costs to fill?

    +1

what if you were half way down a motorway at exactly 100 miles?

I'm getting about 50mpg in the wee Combo van, so around £10 for 100 miles.

The L200 is getting about 30 - 35mpg (when I drive it, not so much when the OH has the keys) so maybe nearer £15.
