Requested PAC Code From Vodafone , Hoped For A Better Offer

Ok i have been with vodafone for 20 months was on a 18 month contract decided to take out a new one with them got the N97 was deepely dissapointed with it plauged with problems i had 3 handsets sent them all back, then i got the Satio sent that back as well due to the battery outraged going on with them, dont get me wrong vodafone have been amazing through this and have bent over backwards to keep me happy, except for one thing "a retention offer " after i sent the satio back i was a bit fed up so i asked for a pac code and a termination they said ok 72 hours i should get it , that was a week ago, so i called up 20mins ago the said sorry i will resend it within 2-3 days, he said sorry for the troubles and wishes me good luck with whoever i go with next, I was kinda expectin ur a great customer and been with us for ages we would like to make u a offer to keep u but i got nuttin, just wondered wat happens now? will anyone contact me asking me to stay or is this fairwell?

Well they've already spent an arm and a leg messing around with a Nokia N97 and a SE Satio which wouldn't please you.

From their point of view, they don't want to have to write off another brand new handset as a second hand one, and not going to take another risk on you. Basically, they no longer want your business. The boy who cried wolf and all that.
  • Excuse me the boy who cried wolf ? i paid £45 month for a contract which came with a handset, i had software problems with the nokia n97 and there was a battery issue with the satio which was made public , hardly my fault , there was no need for yer outburst tbh. but yeah

Have you rang up vodafone and asked to be passed to rententions, you could just state an offer was made but you have forgotten it. Might get the ball rolling, if its not on the account (as it won't be) then maybe they will start afresh.

  • Na i havent called yet , think i will try that tomorrow mate cheers

If they do not pass you to retentions, maybe it a we call you department, ask for upgrade department.

I love the attitude of some people. Oh I'll go and ask for a PAC Code and you'll give me a fantastic deal because of this. How is the operator meant to know you want to stay without you firstly telling them?

If you came on the phone and said 'I spend £45 a month and I've had a lot of problems with the upgrades I've recieved so I'm looking for a new handset and something to reward my loyalty as a high spending customer' I'm sure they'd have again bent over backwards to keep you. They're not mindreaders!
  • that wasnt the reason i asked for the the PAC code but cheers for ur input, i didnt go saying i pay £45 a month so make me an offer , i was mearly asking how u go about it but cheers again from another nice person

I worked in retentions for one of the networks and thats why I said about mindreading. I apologise if I came across in the wrong way, I didn't mean to, but from personal experience I always used to admire a customer more if they just said they wanted to stay rather than playing games.

But with regards to your original query it really does depend on the network. I know three and Orange have outbound teams who contact customers who have handed in their notice to find out why they are cancelling, not too sure about Vodafone though.
