What's wrong with my car/what does this dashboard light mean?

Looks like my car is !!!!!!ed...

It wouldn't start first time, but did second time. When it did, it had the below light on, and I've no idea what it means - any ideas? I mean the one in the middle below the petrol light.



The engine then started revving itself slightly for no apparent reason when I had the clutch down. Then when I tried driving off, the engine wouldn't go above about 2000 revs no matter how far down I pressed the accelerator, or what gear I was in.

Any ideas what might be wrong?

Give make, model and year of the car and someone will tell you

Edit - looks like diesel pre-heat which comes on when you turn the key. When it goes out you can start the car

Well it's a French diesel car - kaput ignition coil/glowplugs

As it won't go over 2000rpm I suspect turbo trouble

It's a 2001 1.2 Renault Clio (Petrol) and not a turbo. So unlikely to be any of the above

It's probably gone into limp home mode to protect the engine. It thinks/knows there's a fault that needs attention.

It needs a service and your handbrake is on - don't know what that other one with the squiggle below it means.

What does it say in the handbook its for

It needs scanned, but if it does have a good service history, I'd bet on the coil pack needing replaced.

My friend has an older Clio and that light came on in her car, it means a fault with the wires/connections I think it said in my manual, with her car it meant there was a fault with her head/rear lights and she had a fiddle with them and the warning light went off, so Im not sure with yours sorry.
