I was given a second hand blackberry, which I use with my sim card in. I have it enabled for wen surfing and recieving emails etc.

Recently the blackberry keeps displaying messages like sim card error, initiailisation failed and insert sim card. I keep having to take out the sim card, wipe it down and put it back in. Then 30 mins later it keeps doing the same thing.

I just wondered if there was anything I could to to prevent this form happening, or does it mean I need to buy a new blackberry.

I have a blackberry pearl. If I need to get a new blackberry, are there any recommended models around? I don't want a big, bulky one. I am with 02.
    Many thanks

Do you have another sim to try in it ? It may just be a 'duff' sim card...

    Hi
I have requested another sim yes thanks but not sure if this will work. The flap which hold the sim in is rather loose and flimsy.
According to O2 a replacement blackberry costs over £200. I had thought I could buy a payg blackberry model and use my simplicity sim in that but 02 don't seem to do those.
