How dare those nasty banks make a profit!0

and i wholehearted agree...
i know it will upset a lot of regulat dfws but the practice of getting out of paying what you owe on a technicality has always riled me. I am paying back every penny i owe the hard way and haven't even thought of looking into if i could get out of it on a technicality because i spent the money!
I'm all for fighting unfair charges and illigal lending practises and harrassment etc - but trying to get out of repaying what you owe on a technicality? Nothing but theft if you ask me!
It is the one thing about the whole DFW board that annoys me:cool::heartpulsOnce a Flylady, always a Flylady:heartpuls0 -

Fine about biting back - but it's not just that is it?
Biting back would be not having to pay interest on the debt you borrowed because the bank made a boo boo. Using a minor flaw in the contract to avoid paying back what you borrowed AT ALL is theft. Or did you walk in a bank and see the manager celebrating your arrival and saying "congratulations! here... have £x000 of our money! What? Paying it back? Noooo don't be silly!"DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! Officially debt free 2017 - now joining the MFW's!
My DFW Diary - blah- mildly funny stuff about my journey0 -

Am I the only one that has been with a bank for many years and have only ever been charged what I agreed to?0 -

No - there are two of us.
I have spoken to people who have dealt with several different banks and financial institutions and claim to have had problems with them all, whilst remaining stunningly ignorant of the one common denominator in each case.0 -
It has to be accepted that MSE attracts the two extremes.
Those knowledgable in financial management, and those in the brown stuff.
The bit between the cream and the bilge is not tremendously well represented i.e. those who apply for a loan, agree the terms, make the payments and go about thier way.
I hope anyway!!0 -

If only they did then we wouldn't be in this mess. I seem to remember the Banks making multiple billions of pounds per year for a very steady length of time, then they have one bad year and have to borrow money from the Tax Payer. I for one won't have a clouded concionce if I managed to get one over on them.
Even though I wouldn't try this loophole scam myself, I don't blame people that would.0 -

Even if you had, there may be a special cream you could get for it?0 -

No. I have always found bank charges very reasonable so long as you stick to the rules you signed up to. I have had free banking for years, which is more than you get in most other countries. You just have to monitor your account sensibly.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0 -

The reason you have enjoyed free banking is due to the poor souls at the bottom of the food chain with the least money paying your charges for you in the form of exorbarent fee's.0
