I think you're getting mixed up. LIR's partner/husband is a HR tax payer. The friend is a benefit claimant. It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

Tip for anyone reporting fraud. The more information you give, the better. Names, addresses, names of partners, places of work, times, approximate figures if money is concerned, descriptions, dates (eg when he is off on holiday to spain, who with, where he flies from) descriptions of cars/vans, including number plates.
The more info you give, the more likely they are to investigate, the more likely they'll successfully convict.
SUPERGRASS !!!;)Please take the time to have a look around my Daughter's website www.daisypalmertrust.co.uk

I know you're only joshing.
There is a part of me which would really enjoy being a benefit fraud investigator. When you get into it, it can be quite surprising. In example, up until recently, the largest section of society who were caught were over 60!
Benefit fraud is a lot more widespread than most of us accept. I'd wager we all know someone who is committing benefit fraud (though we may not know it!)
But what does annoy me, is the blind eye brigade. There are plenty who moan about all sorts of stuff, yet do diddly squat about it.
Take some responsibility! If you feel benefit fraud is wrong, do something about it!
Thing is sometimes you need to know what to do, to be able to be effective. Most LA's score the reports they recieve to see if they're worth investigating. So give em enough info to make it worth their while.
Then do stuff about other stuff.
We're all too apathetic nowadays...It's getting harder & harder to keep the government in the manner to which they have become accustomed.0 -

I didn't think that you did receive HB. But I do still think that someone you know is receiving HB and is paying tax at HR. Is this not what you are saying. If it is my original open question still standsThe only thing that is constant is change.0 -

No its not what I'm saying, again -apologies.
DH pays tax at higher rate, other person receives HB. two separate things, in one frustrated and garbled attempt at a sentence.0 -
But I still don't understand.
Or did you mean JOINT income?
Even so how does a couple grossing over £40K receive HB?The only thing that is constant is change.0
