I'd be careful doing this.
The guy bought a 5 year old car. Second hand cars can and do go wrong. A clutch is indeed a consumable part, so wouldn't be covered under any warranty. As for the other issue? We don't even know what it is yet. If the car ran fine for 2 months after the sale, I find it unlikely that the issue was there when it was sold. It sounds like bad luck and the perils of buying a 5 year old Corsa...
Actually the clutch had only slight wear and tear. It was the Mass Fly Wheel that totally collapsed (fact from the independent report) Therefore being a premature fault. But still no pay out from the warranty. A letter to them stating this, was sent beck with a reply saying it's the dealership that this needs to be taking repsonsillty for this. They act as administrators for claims only.
Still no luck from anyone yet being passed from pillar to post for the last 7 months. It may be that I bought a 5 year old corsa..... however I bought this in good faith. Surely dealerships who take over £3000 of someone and two months later it's totally dead need to accept some form of repsonsibilty regardless of whether the car was second hand or not?0 -

Thank you- I'll get on to the bank tonight. Does it matter I have actually paid the balance off now?0 -

Whether the flywheel is covered under your warranty is surely a matter for you and the warranty company... I don't feel the supplying dealer is in fault in any way, as there is no way they would have been able to know this fault would develop 2 months down the road. Second hand cars go wrong, it's a fact of life.
I'm not being unsympathetic - I've just found out today that my car needs £1000 of work due to a known fault! But what can I do?0 -

I'm not disputing that second had cars go wrong. Your right they do. But if I have the dealer sayings it down to the warranty and the warranty saying its down to the dealer.0 -
Dual Mass Flywheels are an expensive item, which is why I would never buy a modern diesel. The old diesel cars were fine. I have never understood why DMFs were adopted.Unfortunately some of these warranties are not worth the paper they are written on, so your best bet is to go back to Trading Standards and be persistent with them. The alternative is huge solicitor's fees, I'm afraid.I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.0

The OP didnt give the dealer any opportunity to resolve under SOGA hence I can't see them being sucessful, especially, after a garage of their choice made the car worse.0

I wanted to take it back to the original garage in the first place. But they didnt want to know. They just told me to get in touch with the warranty company which I did. They then advised to book into a garage of my choice. I cant see what else I could have done. The original garage is five mins from my place of work. If they had taken it back in the first place to inspect then I wouldn't be in this mess!!0 -

And what did you do after the warranty request was declined?
You did not give them reasonable chance to fix it hence to turn round and expect them to pay for it or for your mechanic who made it worse isnt reasonable.0 -
If I was you I'd pay a garage to fix it and accept that the flywheel issue was just a fact of life.Happy chappy0
