My mobile is a work one and dont make that many calls on it so cheap landline would propabbly be better, i have heeded both your advice and my mates about tiscali as they all say they are pants, which is a shame as it looked ok, but better to go with word of mouth.
I dont intend to be downloaded anything, just streaming and general surfing. The closest I could get to the old deal I got folks on would be ok, I guess I should give talktalk a ring0 -
One of the O2 LLU services is the obvious choice from that list, with 3 months free, 02 mobile discount and Quidco cashback.
BTW, streaming is downloading as far as any ISP is concerned, it's all data usage regardless. No free lunch, and no free laptop

cheers for this, with the added bt line rental this seems to be quite close to the talk talk packages, with a basic internet usage knowledge myself, in what way is the O2 a better deal?
all this help is very much appreciated. :beer:0 -
Because the 02 service is a professional one with a UK call centre. TT is rather different...read endless threads on this board for the evidence. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Streaming can be very heavy on your limits. Lots of people get hit with charges (quite rightly) from TT, Tiscali, BT and the other sellers and resellers of non-LLU and LLU. These charges are fair really because of the network strain but people can be ignorant and sign up wrongly or are not quite given the full picture by sales staff.
If you want proper ADSL then shop around. I find most people split their services aroundfor the best deal. For me, it's BT for landline and O2 for mobile and ADSL2. You could also consider running your calls through 1899.com butthat's not for everyone either as BT do some good deals.
Pen and paper and a wee bit of advice and thought is the way to go.
I spent a morning last week figuring out a deal for a relative and their best deal was what the PO offered for phone. Their ADSL is from O2. I wouldn't recommend that to anyone else because I'd need another morning finding them a deal.
Take your time choosing.0 -
I think I need to lie in a dark room after bombarding my eyes with all these products :rotfl:I thought I had found the one right at the begining with the tiscali 25 quid deal, But was kindly steered clear by your good selves and mates, because they are bobbins, I think I shall do as you suggest tonight, pen, paper, beer and start again.
Talk Talk with addons is looking best at mo.

Orange consistently gets rated last or near to last in every independent survey of ISP's. Computer Shopper and Which to name but two.No free lunch, and no free laptop
