I changed from the Halifax to them in Sept (pocketing £30) - more than happy with the service so the wife also moved accounts to LTSB in November. As a result we both received £35 credits as part of their "refer a friend" scheme.
Net result +£100 and smooth transfer of all SO's and DD's.Come on you Red and White Wizzaaaards!0 -

Visa Debit Card
£800 overdraft
Internet Banking
£30 credit on my account
Direct Debits/Standing Orders transferred
So far, so very good!
They do kill a few trees though. Never had so much post before in my life! Haven't had the £35 yet, although they did call to say it had been processed & would be in soon.0 -

Stay away. If you are ever in the position where you go over your overdraft limit then this is not the bank for you. They sting you big time. My parents have an account with them and the only reason they don't change it is because they are stiill of the opinion that it is difficult and money could end up in the wrong place. They charge you for being over the limit. They then charge you for every letter they send you. If you go back under the limit and then over again, they will repeat the charges, even if they know your wages go in the next day. These big banks are just there to make money out of you - they pretend they care but actually they don't.£66.77/£240 Grocery Challenge0

When did LTSB start offering the £30 to open an account with them?
I transfered to LTSB from Halifax last October/November but don't recall being offered £30 to do so. I wonder if I should give them a call and see if they would still pay it to me."An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will"

They had a refer a friend scheme last year where if you opened an account (and fulfilled the credit per month criteria) you got £35 and the referer got £35. Is this what you meant and do you qualify?

I opened a Lloyds Classic Plus last August as I was looking for a new current account, and they were offering a £30 incentive.
Opening the account was fairly easy, move your own direct debits though because they messed mine up.
After opening, if you set up internet banking (a condition of the account is to use internet banking) you have to go into the branch to get your code, because they won't send you a pass code to your address "as it might not be secure" despite the fact they are happy to send your PIN, card and cheque book there!
The warning is because last week Lloyds put a stop on my account. I had used internet banking to move some savings from various places into my current account so i could pay a lump sum off my mortage by cheque. Apparently this flagged up something on the system because it looked like I had paid more money into the account than I had declared when I opened the account - I had given my monthly salary when asked how much money I would pay in each month.
They did not tell me about stopping the account, I only found out when I tried to make a withdrawal from a cash machine one night. I contacted Lloyds the next day and after speaking to various people it transpired that they had blocked my account and the only way to remove the block would be to attend an account review in branch! As I do not work close to a branch, I could not get to a branch until Saturday so had to go without money until the weekend.
I then had to go in and spend an hour going through all my different finanical products, expenditure, income etc. They then said it was all fine, apologised for any inconvenience but said it was all for my own protection to guard against fraud!
I have asked for compensation for the inconvenience and worry, and am meant to be getting a call from their 'Customer Concern' department, but haven't heard anything as yet.
So be careful what you state as the amount you expect to pay in! I personally will be closing my account. My main gripe is that they wouldn't sort it out over the phone (not secure apparently, despite the fact that I could clear my account out via telephone banking if I so wished!) and that they left me without money late at night away from home.0 -

I called LTSB to ask about this £30 incentive and managed to scam a credit to my account, along with an upgrade to a Classic Plus account (£30 is only paid to those applying for Classic Plus)
