I have this little sister.. and she's small and very INSENSITIVE (or totally catty and out to make me feel even worse!)
All through bankruptcy I have had to deal with her comments and views, her lack of support and help or sometimes just her down right 'thick' attitude.
Well the behaviour when I told her my repossessed house was on the market was bad enough.. I told her that i'd seen my house on rightmove and she immediately replied no word of a lie " Oh that reminds me, I must call the estate agent to arrange a valuation on my house, we've seen a bigger one we would love to by in *******" She called to arrange the viewing there and then without a thought for my feelings or any comment at all about my house on the market.
If you think that was bad.. get this.
Had a text this morning. "If there is a A4 sheet of paper on my next door neighbours window does that mean they've been repossessed, Id look myself but don't want to be nosey but I want to know the gossip!!!"
Nasty, nasty, nasty.. not insensitve. nasty and i've had enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

aw MicheH! she sounds very insensitive! does she even realise what she is saying? some people just speak before thinking:mad:
try and put it to the back of your mind, i'm sure she didn't mean to upset you intentionally
here's one of those dodgy hugs:grouphug: xxx0 -
Have you let her know how it makes you feel, she may not even realise she is upsetting you. Me and my sister will talk about anything and maybe she thinks you're not to bothered by it?0

what goes around comes around hun chin up be strong egnore her its hard0

Aww MicheH-just ignore her its either bad sense of humour or snobbishness!
I would tell her that when you looked at the sign in her neighbours window it said something like "did you think we were having the house repossessed?Shame on you for being so nosey! We are going on our hols to the seychelles after winning millions and the lottery and then we are going to move to a BETTER area! Haha"
Sorry....maybe its me thats the cow lol0 -
I am so used to shrugging her comments off because 'thats just what she's like' but i'm beginning to think that she's loving the fact i'm down on my luck.
She offered to take me to the council offices yesterday to apply for housing and council tax benefit I was so nervous and so ashamed that I had to do it (it was lovely of her to help I relise this) but she turned up to my house dressed up to the nines as if to say to the benefit people 'I do not need handouts like my sister I am better than her , look at her and look at me - I feel sorry for her'
Now I know that a lot of that is me being the hardworking, lovely, proud person that I am, I know that I have lost my confidence and self respect and know that I am so sensitive right now and do feel 'below' people and I have to work at that but I feel that sister knows this and is working it to make herself feel better at the expense of me feeling worse.
It's difficult to explain and I admit it's how I feel about myself. I just know (and hope you all know me by now) that i'm lovely, wouldn't intentionally trample on someone's feeling but also know that stupid remarks like she's making is bound to hurt. 3 months in and I thought all the negative feelings should have gone. I really need to sort my self esteem out in order to move on havn't I?0 -

Aw! Mich you are worth a thousand of her.
You are very couragious. You knew that there was a problem and you set out to put it right. You went to the people who could help you and you followed thier advice.
Now you have taken that experiance and you are using it to help other people in the situation you were in. You are making a difference in peoples lives every day.
Tell me, does she?? I thought not.
:grouphug:BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
course we know you're lovely!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
it's going to take time to build yourself back up hun you've been through an awful lot...i know how you feel, i'm pretty low and my esteem is through the floor. i had my end of year appraisal in work today and my boss was on about my confidence and how i'm hard on myself and i ended up crying
i just don't know to change and now i'm worried what my colleagues think of me.
i really don't think your sister is doing it on purpose, i bet she has just got really thick skin, or can't see how sensitive you are at the moment. maybe a little word next time she puts her size tens in it?
you've been through so much hun, be kind to yourself...

Ever since I joined I have been overwhelmed with how nice people are on here-and in particular you MicheH, confused and Tigerfeet are really friendly to new people even when we get it wrong, like I do quite a bit.

Its nice to know not everyone judges you by your mistakes.
Nope, sorry you lot, you're stuck with me too now
