  • thanks all for replies

I've had 3 private emails now - 3rd one told me not to use boiler (like many in my other Thread) :D

I'm hoping to have 3 or 4 people come out for a FREE call out to look at the job and see if they can fix the crappy Ferolli or Replace with a new boiler.

Should all be done by this time next week (the quotes that is) then i will post all there info on this thread for comparisons and......yes.....More ADVICE.
  • If one man is fitting a boiler then i would allow 2 days for the job.
Pick the boiler up, driving to the job, removing old boiler, half a day to powerflush the system, it's all time that you must consider.
I have seen a lot of these one day full system installs and trust me they have been rough.

Just to clarify my last post....

The fitters that installed my new CH system didn't work two week solid to install it.

They worked 3 days and then left us for 2 as we had to get the electrician in to rewire the kitchen so the boiler had an electricity supply

The fitters then came back and worked another day but when they went to mount the boiler on the wall the external wall of the house fell down! Some fool had bricked up an old door and just bricked within the frame and didn't tie it in!! There fore work stopped again whilst we got a builder to rebuild the wall....

Then back came the fitters and finished the job in a further day...

Great guys who accomodated us in everyway and took all the problems in their stride. They never charged us any extra for all the unforeseen problems or the fact they had to too and fro...

They also in their 'down time' came to our other house and fixed a fire valve on our heat slave, and sorted a leaky toilet....

    ALL AT NO EXTRA COST!!

This doesn't make them cowboys - just genuine decent blokes (was a two man job). As they stated they had charged us for a days work and when the wall fell down they couldn't complete a days work, and therfore did our other 'odd jobs' as it was on their way home....and when they did come back to moint the boiler on our newly built wall they didn't charge us extra.
  • Hopefully they can fix the Ferroli

What's your views on the Ferroli range - more than one word answers please :)

My personal preference is worcester if i can afford it. As they have a good reputation.

    HI Everyone

I said i would reply with what happened - so here it is:

there was no support available financially so we took out a loan
Boiler cost £1360 for supply and install

    Baxi 105 Combi Condensing boiler
    Remote Thermostat
Bring the house up to regs (TRVs already on rads)
Bit of plastering on the wall etc

Came to £1360 from a Gas Safe engineer who will do all relevant forms and we have to apply for the guarantee

    Just thought i would update

    Thanks Everyone
