Find the price of the boiler double it ad the cost of a night at the pub, and thats what the quotes will come out form most of the fitters.

There is a good chance it will be a one day job for a straight swap a flush , handfull off copper and mount the boiler.

Gas fitters love boiler swapouts nice high profit and an easy job.

i would be looking for below £1500 dependant on boiler.

Yes and all these guyz on ebay are cowboys and are not gas safety regd NOT!!!

Hi...the OH has yet to encounter a straight swap for a condensing combi. Beware of 1 day installs as something has to give...usually the boiler and the customer's bank account a short ways down the road.

A unique pricing strategy you've got there and not one I've witnessed...you must travel in different circles.

To the OP: make sure the Benchmark Log is completed after the boiler is commissioned and the installation is notified to Building Control via Gas Safe Register by the RGI... you'll receive this in the post.

If you're happy with the standard of a 1 day install it is your lookout but it is a disservice to the customer if a RGI doesn't follow manufacturer's specifications and 'Best Practice'. What would you consider to be 'major probs'

Just because a gas fitter puts a boiler in like for like in one day does not mean it is substandard...could also mean he is not milking it....

I assume you can't answer my questions as you are not a RGI and not familiar with the daily practicalities of boiler swaps/installations to a 'Best Practice' standard. Do you believe you were 'milked' for your recent installation?

For the benefit of other MSErs looking for advice, what boiler did you have installed and what did the specification include? How long did it it take? Much more useful info than throwaway comments.:D
