Right. Im about to let you into a closely guarded secret known to all indians/pakistanis living in and around Bradford.

After this you may no longer hear from me again
But you deserve it!

Forget about paying upto £10 and more for a curry thats just gonna give you problems in the morning anyway. Instead pay just £2.50 for the same experience!

Just a few minuites up the road from the ever famous, ever expensive, ever crap Mumtaz restaraunt is a place called Baba Roti. In my opinion and the opinion of others as well, the food in Baba Roti is much more tastier then Mumtaz.

Its just a take out place and only sell a small selection of curries, but at £2.50 inc free nan/roti, and a great taste, you cant go wrong!

REMOVED SENTENCE BUT LEFT REST OF THREAD

Here you go. Its just behind that shop called connexions. Tell em Abdul sent you ;)

http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=572+Great+Horton+Rd,+Bradford,+England,+United+Kingdom&sll=40.75844,-73.985195&sspn=0.065274,0.154324&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=572+Great+Horton+Rd,+Bradford+BD7+3,+United+Kingdom&ll=53.782575,-1.782382&spn=0.002853,0.01929&t=h&z=16&layer=c&cbll=53.782538,-1.782425&panoid=eRbWbXIS4aWXXUoxulDACw&cbp=11,325.2,,0,5

Now....which one of you is going to give me the secret to a really good meat and potato pie?

  • Pimmy's!!! Great meat and pot pies but only sold around ST Helens area!!!

Thanks for the curry tip, I'm up Bradford end quite a bit to visit my bro and his Mrs but think she'd stove my head in if I suggested any curry but her own, though hers is mighty mighty fine...
I'd invite her out there for dinner but pretty sure that may come across as a slight on her cooking!!

On a completly unrelated note which is the best website for asian clothing??? The actual big day is in 4 months and I'm still stuck on outfits for me and the girls, I know her family are wearing sari's but was warned off due to my clumsy nature (calamity Jane is still my nickname!) and told to go for the pants suit???? Any tips?????

Has gone to play on her own little world for a bit..... but its ok the voices in her head came too so she's not alone ;)

Would this include free delivery to the Manchester area????;)

Akbars is the best curry house I've tried in Bradford. Agree about Mumtaz and re the place you mention, I find it's normally a good sign if an Asian reccomends a curry so I might give it a try, but why so cheap?

probably no 'drinks licence',there is/was one just outside of Oxford city centre that was around the same price but you had to take your own booze

In areas where there's lots of Muslims residing you might find good reductions on booze in those supermarkets you won't elsewhere ;) (I have found a few "whoopsed" in Asda anyway).

Are they sold in just your shop or do others stock them?
I have really missed them and would happily travel for one. Or three..
I don't suppose they still do the meat and potato pasties do they?

Re the best curry ever, I'm confident it's The Buraq midway between St. Helens and Wigan.

Thanks for the tip but i can't be eating any old meat and potato pie!
The meat has to be halal. A good traditional recipe would be helpful.
