iPhone new contract deals

My contract with o2 is coming to an end in January but I'm planning to hang on to the phone. I'm looking for a new contract which would hopefully be less than the current £35 I pay per month for 600 minutes and 500 texts. I would need something similar to o2's unlimited 3G access so I don't end up with huge bills and I was hoping for as short a contract as possible (though that may be wishful thinking!)

Does anyone know of any good deals for a contract like this? Many thanks in advance.

(any that come with a PS3 would be a delightful bonus ;))

I was looking at this deal: http://shop.vodafone.co.uk/shop/price-plans/12-mnths-900-mins-unltd-txt-20?dependantSkuIds=sku690047&WT_ref=INT-Shphm-Lyr3-Sm-2

If you go through Quidco they give you £100 back but some people have reported it has not tracked. Hopefully I will be able to get a similar deal in January.

You can get your iPhone unlocked by filling in this form - http://shop.o2.co.uk/update/unlockmyiphone.html
  • A friend of mine has been an o2 customer for several yrs, as her phone contract expired she bought an iphone on payg, sold her upgrade fone and got her contract down to £20 a month i think, it may have had slightly lower free calls and txts but was def free 3g internet.
It may be worth seein what offer o2 will gve you when you call their cancellation dept in Jan.

I've already unlocked it in preparation :)

Any idea what Vodafone's unlimited mobile internet fair usage policy is like? That looks a good deal.

Yeah, I will, but looking through the o2 retentions thread on here suggests their retention deals aren't that great :(

Just swap over to a 1 month rolling simpicity deal from O2

Nearly the same as the iPhone contract you are on but you dont get the free wifi access (BT Open/Cloud) or Visual Voicemail. But cost only £20 a month.

    http://shop.o2.co.uk/sim-only-simplicity

And pick unlimited internet as your free bolt one

You can sign up to a 12 month contract you get more mins and text (you might also get a better retension deal)
  • If you get o2 simplicity you can get what you want for just under £20 a month and cancel anytime you like. You don't get anything free if you want a ps3 then buy it, it will be cheaper that way.

It's not essential, but I was looking at new contract phones and most of them seem to come with something. It wouldn't necessarily be cheaper just to buy one, since I'd be paying for a contract either way.

Anyway, thanks for your input... looks like o2 simplicity is the way to go.

The WiFi can be used in shops with BT Open/Cloud hotspots, I hardly ever use them.

You can ring and ask how much the web bolt on will be, visual voicemail just gives you a list of voicemails in a list that you can select to hear.
