Having looked round found that Lois Jewellery were offering the best price, popped it in the post (royal mail special delivery £8.60 insured it for £1k) Saturday morning, got a call Monday morning, all ok except one earing which didn't test as gold, they offered to send it back to me and price of £759 was more than their website calculated on the Saturday.


The money was in my bank the same day, so sent on Saturday morning and money in the bank Monday afternoon, that's what I call service. I'm pretty price savvy on gold so know I got a great deal, don't know why people would


a) Put gold in auction and pay 20% commission plus vat
b) Go to high street 'lenders' and get terrible scrap prices.


Would certainly use Lois Jewellery again.

I had a small amount of gold which I weighed on home scales coming to 11g. On Fridays gold rate on their website this would give me £103.07. I sent it off Friday and this morning (Monday) they called offering me £106.40. Of course I accepted and the money was in my bank account 2 hours later!!
Excellent service, would definitely recommend!! Thank you Lois Jewellery!!

I send some unwanted jewellery to Lois Jewellery on Monday 13 April. Following the advice on their website, I used registered delivery, wrote the total weight of the parcel on the envelope, and addressed it to "Lois" without mentioning "Jewellery" (all precautions to avoid the parcel being tampered with). I send 16 g of what was, as far as I knew, 18ct gold (valuation £308.64) and 133 g of silver of an unknown denomination (Lois values silver roughly between £0.15 and 0.30/g). The following morning at 11 am, I received a call from an employee saying that they could offer me £344 for the lot (frankly, more than I was hoping)! The money was transferred to my bank account that very afternoon.

I took 2 gold rings to my local jewellers and they offered me £80. I then sent them to Lois expecting a little more, as I've used them twice before and was really pleased with what they paid previously and the speed of their service. On the form, I said I didn't know what carat gold they were. On the recommendation of my village postmaster, I sent them in a tamper-proof bag.

I got a phone call the next day saying one was 9 carat and the other was 18 carat. They gave me a figure over the phone which was more than the jewellers.

I had asked for a cheque payable to MacMillan Cancer Support and was delighted when a cheque arrived this morning with a covering note from the chairman saying that as it was for charity, they were paying 100% of the gold price. The cheque was for £175!

Found Lois Bullion through MSE website and sent scrap silver to them as their online quote was best of the 3 I tried. 48 hours later, had phone call to confirm price being paid (£10 more than online quote, possibly kitchen scales not very accurate!) and money was paid into my bank account immediately. A very efficient service. Recommended.
