  • I first tried my local jewellery merchant but was not very satisfied with the price offered. I went on line and found Lois jewellery and received over £400 more than the high st. I found them very good to deal with and the money was in my bank account within 1 hr of me aggreeing the price
  • Lois was recommended to me by my mum, who after doing lots of research found they offered the best prices. She sent her gold to them in July and received over £1200. My sister in-law used the service in August and I used Lois last month to help pay for my daughters birthday party.

The price quoted on their website the day I posted my gold was £10.10 but had dropped to £10 the following day (day of delivery) I received a phone call to confirm if I was happy to proceed and the funds were in my account that day. One item I sent turned out not to be gold and this was returned to me.

I will use Lois again and would highly recommend.
  • I have used this company a few times and alsways found them good, the last time I used them was last week. You get to see for yourself before sending (if you weight your gold yourself & digital scales are better) how much to get and last time I even got more!.

Hi , I used to do jewellery classes and had some silver left over, things that didnt work, trimmings and ends of wire etc. that have been sitting in my box for the last 5 years. I was looking to help my daughter pay for car repairs and decided to send it, along with a couple of gold chains. I weighed them on not accurate kitchen scales and guessed the chains, working out the amount on the website to £72 for the silver and £28 for the gold, I sent it by next day which cost me £5.50. I received a phone call the following morning offering me £90, as one of the broken chains was not gold, which I accepted, and a cheque arrived the next day.
Not many of these companies accept scrap, and not many deal in silver - I got back probably more than I paid for it all those years ago. To say both I and my daughter were delighted :jis an understatement and I cannot fault or praise highly enough the service. I confirm I have no connection with the company and this is the first time I have used any such service.
  • Hello, use Lois with confidence, if you send by post make sure its fully insured, best of the lot, they take 4% from morning fix (which you can check on kitco.com.) I have absolutely no connection with the company (apart from being a customer) David Erskine.

I just used Lois I had a gold ingot it had full details of weight and quality stamped on it.

I looked at several sites and used their calculators, Lois gave the best price and they are featured on MSE so i used them. I posted the gold and had it insured, Lois phoned me the next morning and offered me £5 more than the quoted price (this almost covered the postage). I accepted and the money was in my bank account within the hour.

Excellent service, I will use them again.

Why is it only brand new users signing up to MSE to recommend the site?

If I were the company owners of Lois I would be extremely unhappy at attempts to make the company out as spammy. Threads like this do a huge diservice to new companies as it tends to put savvy moneysavers right off.

I sent my gold to Lois last month.
Got a phone call from them the next day to confirm they had received my gold and to confirm weight/price. Their scales had my gold weighing 0.6g heavier than mine. The funds were transferred to my account 1 hour later.

Overall a positive experience from this company. I would deal with them again.

After reading this thread I contacted Lois Jewellery a week ago by email to see if they would accept non-hallmarked silver - I still haven't received a reply, and no indication that the email had bounced/was incorrect. I will try resending but am currently unimpressed with their customer service.
