• I'm a journalist working on a story about Money4Gold, and I'm keen to talk to people who've had bad experiences. You can contact me directly on stephaniecrowther@googlemail.com.
• Thank you so much for the company that you have recomended. I will be using them in future. If they have a web site perhaps you would be kind enough to send it to me. Happy New Year. Many,Many thanks for Martin Lewis for bringing this site to the general public. You deserve a medal Martin.
• i cannot understand why any of you are sending gold in an envelope to any of the recent wave of 'i'll pay you for your jewellery' websites.

You know those things called shops on the high street, well some of them buy and sell gold and other precious metals, they are called jewellers and if you go in there with the gold you no longer want or need they will give you money.

get off your lazy butts and stop believing the hype, idiots

I have posted on various threads regarding money4gold and the growing amount of problems with this company, also the action many of us have taken to get our gold returned and to help make others aware of this company and their practices.
The BBB is one avenue myself and others have used, for those not familiar the BBB is the Better Business Bureau in America as is Money4Golds head office. |The BBB act as mediator between money4gold and consumers, crediting companies with ratings and reviews. Money4Gold had a rating in the region of a B in October 09 when people on this site and http://money-watch.co.uk/5732/have-money4gold-stolen-your-gold/comment-page-1#comment-91329 started logging our complaints with the BBB.
Money4Gold now has a rating of a "F" with the following BBB explanation of the rating.

Our opinion of what this rating means:
We strongly question the company’s reliability for reasons such as that they have failed to respond to complaints, their advertising is grossly misleading, they are not in compliance with the law’s licensing or registration requirements, their complaints contain especially serious allegations, or the company’s industry is known for its fraudulent business practices.

IMO that sums up money4gold quite well!

dont give your jewellery away!!!!
money for gold and similiar companies rip you off. they will pay you pennies when you could get so much more. best option is to look for a gold buyer in your area, i recently sold 20grams worth of jewellery for £80 most will pay around £5-£6 per gram depending on carat. money for gold offered me £10!!!!

Its fantastic news!
The OFT press release: http://www.oft.gov.uk/news/press/2010/04-10
Best bit of the link is this bit though,

Although it is not possible for the OFT to intervene directly to resolve issues arising between individual consumers and firms, in this case the OFT would be interested in hearing about consumers' experiences of using the services of companies who buy gold using the postal service. The team can be contacted via the website at www.oft.gov.uk/goldpost.
You can email or phone them!

I would steer clear away from such gold sharks.

I wonder what cash4gold would give you for 1 troy ounce of pure 24k gold lol. Not much i bet.
