I had the same experience! They would not return my gold, despite my calling them 3 times a day! I threatened BBC Watchdog, Trading Standards AND the Police - all to no avail.
They advertise on TV, on their website and in their literature that they insure your parcel for £500, but its only AFTER it gets lost that they draw your attention to the "small print" in the Ts & Cs. Unless you send your gold with an independent valuation dated within 90 days of the date of posting they will only pay out £100. The replacement value of my gold was in excess of £2000.
The so-called Customer Service Team are outrageously rude and keep changing the "terms and conditions" every time you call - a "supervisor" (she said she wasn't comfortable to give her name to a total stranger!) actually told me that "having so much trouble getting my gold back was my own fault for sending it in in the first place!".0 -
Over a month after returning Money4gold's pathetic cheque for £101 for gold i have only just received it back today. This is only after complaints to to BBB in the U.S & also Trading Standards U.K. as Money4gold promised on three separate ocassions that my gold was on it's way back. Frankly they just lie !!!
I have just returned from Michael Bloomsteins Precious Metals here in Brighton with £486.69 for that same gold.
What ever you do, don't sent Money4gold any gold as it will be ages before it's returned if you're lucky.
I can personally thoroughly recommend Michael Bloomsteins Precious Metals of Brighton as a very fair and honest company to sell your gold to.0 -
My experience was totally different sent off broken pieces of gold that otherwise may have been binned, 3 days later got an email saying cheque on the way, phoned company to ask the value of cheque was informed they do not know but if I am not happy with the amount then to ring them, got a cheque today for £151 which I was happy with but in light of the previous comment phoned them and asked is this their best offer, was put on hold and after a minute the lady said we can increase to £200, to which I replied £250 be better on hold for another minute the told OK can do total of £251 and will send another cheque for the difference. Maybe they have improved or I just got lucky!!0

Dear Martin.
Please help.
I am a pensioner on a small pension and with two young adult children out of work and I live in rented accommodation. All my savings have now been used up in paying the bills. I decided to send my wedding and engagement rings (worth £600.00 plus) to Money4Gold in the hope of getting at least £500 in return within 24 hours as stated in their information. Eight days later and two telephone calls and I received £0.10p. Yes, ten pence. Is this an insult or what?
The shock of what has happened to me caused a rise in my blood pressure and immediate chest pains. I have medical problems which include heart disease and hypertension.
Thanks

Money4Gold offered me £8.72 last month when I sent in a couple of old gold bracelets - I declined their offer over the phone and they immediately offered to double it to a "whopping" £17.44 - again I declined and returned their cheque.
When my gold was returned to me almost 4 weeks later I decided to take it to a local jeweller and was very pleased to get £65.00 from him for exactly the same items!
If you're looking to get a fair and decent price, give Money4Gold a very wide berth!0 -
Well what can i say i received the cheque on fri 20/11/09 the day they said it would arrive. I must be one of the lucky ones, although not really as i would have got more had i taken it to someone else.Nat0

What ever you do - Do Not use this Money4Gold! I sent over 400 pounds worth of jewelry to them in September, they sent me a cheque for 25.11 which I returned the same day via special delivery. I phoned them almost every day to find out why my gold was not returned yet (thats when I could get through to them - more often than not it went straight to answer phone). After reporting them to the BBB, Watchdog, Trading Standards etc, ranting and raving on the phone, emails, letters and finaly telling them that I was going to drive to their premises and personally collect my items, I received my gold back - 7 Weeks later!!!!!!! What this company are doing is criminal and they need to be stopped!0

It still wasnt enough fot its value so I have asked for it to be returned. Even though they promise to return gold within 15 days a month has passed and I'm still waiting !! I have called them and threatened with trading standards so lets see what happens.A absolute con DO NOT use money4gold !!! EVER !!!! Wish I'd read these postings first0

I sent 100g of gold to money4gold and 1 week later got a cheque for £87.70, I sent a email to them to tell them I was not excepting the cheque. I sent the cheque back special delivery. Got a email offering me £302.59 when I asked why they only offered me £87 they said that they had took their fees. They also said 37g weren't used so I've asked them to send it me back. This is one big con and shouln't be allowed to advertise on the TV. There must be hundreds of people that have excepted their offer and been conned out of hundreds of pounds.0
