and as for the bad back, I have two discs which are degenerated, and really suffer, I get facet joint injections once a year which help with the pain.

It's horrible isn't it. I have had cortizone (i think) injections right into the space between my vertibrae guided by ultrasound, the stung a fair bit as well. Only good thing about it all is when i got my flu vac and the woman asked me to turn away as she was doing it in case i was scrared of needles. i did have to giggle. The thought process was "your tiny flu vac wont even register with my brain compaired to the pain my body has already been put through."

Instead i smilled sweetly and say it's ok needles dont bother me

IAM - there has been a recent study about reflexology helping with chronic back pain - i know yours is really bad but people reported it helped with the reducing some of the pain - im studying reflexology now and i have to say its facinating..

    Hi Beth
I've not tried reflexology, but i have a question, it's a daft one i think

Does it have to be feet? or can they use other parts of your body?
I'm very anti feet :o cant stand them being touched

I have tried acupuncture and found it great
I managed to come right off the painkillers completly and that was from taking full doseage of dia-something or other and a cocktail inbetween

  • Never been to Laurencekirk, but driven past it many times up and down the road!

Aberdeen is a lovely city, I do miss it sometimes. Especially codona's and the beach boulevard!!
  • Bethandkim, I am about an hours drive(ish) from Leeds, so could get over that way.
