    thanks, confused...sadly, I've enquired, and all the pigs-in-blankets around these parts are fully booked, so I guess I'll have to make my own dinner...............
    No, I don't think all other drivers are idiots......but some are determined to change my mind.......

    oh, BTW....mending cars is really quite a simple task...easier than making cakes....basic tools [for the above, I needed 2 small spanners, pliers and a screwdriver]......a good manual like Haynes [book-of-lies]....available for £1 from Helptheaged....plus, a willingness to learn from mistakes.

    oh..and a willingness to 'get stuck in''......oily fingers for a few days too....

    first bit of advice I have is, to only buy simple cars...not today's mess of complications.

    thankfully we know a mechanic who likes to fix cars for fun, and just at the cost of parts :o you make it sound so easy..surely not? are you quite practical?

    hope everyone is well today?

    we need to face the supermarket...but we appear to be stalling! :o oh crikey i can't face it...but we'll starve otherwise :rotfl:best make a list

    Practical? apparently not as much as I should be....[BR, for example?}

    For me, being 'practical' isn't the issue, it's motivation.

    I can repair pretty much anything on a vehicle, yet fall into a dizzy soup over debt!
    I can drive any road or off-road vehicle [pretty much]..even pilot a super tanker.....yet cannot think of a suitable birthday present for my latest ex?

    so I have more failings than successes.

    and Monday nights are good for shopping...

    Looks like there's many of us being hit with unexpected bills for things going kaput.. s*ds law eh, at least we can wake up when all this 'expense' is done with and think 'phew that was a rough month, had to pull my belt in well and truelly there' rather than 'how am i going to pay all this off.. despair despair'

    Keep chipper mateys. We're all doing fine :)

    oh yes..chipper it is....talking of chippers, we have what is purported to be Yorkshire's best fish 'n chip shop in the village.

    but at over a fiver for [very nice] one-of-each, it's a bit pricey for me.
