Mis-sold mobile phone contract advice please?

Hi everyone, first time poster, long time lurker!
Ok, so in March this year i purchased an iphone from 02 on an 18 month contract. The only reason i did this i because my work uses 02 for all its phones and all employee's get a 30% discount on all monthly tariffs.
After 12 days i just couldnt get on with the iphone so returned it and swapped it for a very simple nokia. At the time the woman in the store who was the manager said my discount would be swapped onto my new account, no problem.
Fast forward to 3 days ago. I rang 02 on a completely unrelated matter only to find out by chance that no discount is being appplied to my account. Now i know i should of noticed a long time ago on my bills, but i dont get a monthly itemised bill, and only get an e-bill. Because i make alot of calls and text, I just simply every month look at the total and deem that ok.
So i went into the 02 shop yesterday (not the original one), and was told to look at my original reciept to see if the discount had been apllied to my account, which it obviously has not.
So, where do i stand now? I am going to call them up later to see what they are going to do about this situation, ive got a feeling they will go down the lines of "you should of checked your bill", but technically the manager of the shop never applied the discount in the first place.
What should i say to them today?
All advice would be really appreciated!

Not sure where to go on this, you had a contract with a discount so it at least proves you were entitled to receive one, your best bet i believe would be to contact the manager who said they would apply the discount, ask them why it has not been applied.
Hopefully they will credit your account the overpayment.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0
