Hi,
last month we had a little gathering in the back garden with the patio heater on and left it to close to the kitchen window. The main window is fine, but the samller window that opens at the top took the brunt of the heat. The result was that :
3 of the seams fell off
the glass unit cracked
The past weekend saw horrendous storms and the whole window has now fallen out.
Is it possible to just buy the glass and the seams and refit or will I need to replace the whole window.
Any help or suggestions would be hugely appreciated

How old is the window and do you know where it came from?
By seams I presume you mean the beads - the plastic extrusion that holds the glass in place. There are hundreds of them and they all become obsolete after a few years as the dies wear out and the extruders design new profiles. If you know where the windows came from and they are fairly recent then you may be in luck.0 -
Surely that would be covered under the accidental damage part of your buildings insurance - have you contacted them for advice?

Thanks for the replies - they are pretty old and I have no idea where they came from.
I have looked in to the home insurance idea but my excess is £200
So can I assume I will have buy a whole replacement window?
cheers

Where in the country are you? There's a factory in Salford (Manchester) that sells all the spares, including single double glazed units. I won't be able to put their name here but if you search on the user williamrobb88 you will get more info from there.
Hope this helps0
