'I was told there is an original painting that has been "missing" since the 1950's and if this proves to be it, apparently it would be worth in excess of £10,000,000 (yes ten million pounds!!).. It is signed and dated bottom right John Constable. ARA. Pinxt. 1820.'

I can't see it but maybe it has dropped to a later page as I tend to only browse the first couple. When I last read it they weren't being too naughty by ebay standards, but I think there was a possibility it could descend into 'the usual' as they were talking about asking the seller questions..and that's when ebay usually start to get twitchy and delete threads.

See, you're all laughing. But remember that documentary about the two brothers in Peckham, London, who discovered a rare missing sea farers Harrison watch. They had believed for years it was a victorian egg timer, and left it in a crappy garage, but then along came an antique dealer who saw what it was. And it made them millionaires over night......

What ever happened with the painting Nora Desmond bought that she thought was worth a few quid? Did the thread ever update and did she make some cash?

As for this auction, LOL. I did fine art up to A Level and I'm sorry to say I detest constable's work with a passion (sorry!!) Chocolate box painting at its best.
