NTL broadband replacement

Hi, have been with NTL broadband for nearly a year now. Contract finishes next month. Took up their offer of £9-99/month for 1 Meg. Unfortunatley the price will go back up to £17-99. Have been happy with the service but being on income support i have to budget carefully.
I only use the internet for web browsing, checking emails.
Is there another broadband offer that is 'reliable' and cheap? I am happy with 1 Meg download.
I have rang NTL to see if they can give me a good offer but was told it is best to call back next month when my 1 year is up. The reason being i currently am on a special offer with NTL and they cannot give me another offer till this one expires next month.
I am based n Nottingham if that's any use
Thanks in advance

Well if you have an NTL landline then you'll need to get that removed & get a BT line installed as all 'ADSL' providers require you to have a BT Landline to use their services.
http://www.adslguide.org.uk will give more information with regards to what service providers & offers are out there
