Free wifi at McDonalds

Options
I was flying out from Gatwick South on Sunday morning, so I thought I´d check my emails etc while I waited. I sat down in Mcdonalds, but couldn´t get onto the internet using my netbook there. I understood that all McDonalds gave you free wifi access, but no one there seemed to know what I was talking about. Has anyone managed access thro McDonalds, do you need a ´password´ of some sort......any help would be appreciated, thanks.
As a matter of interest I was at Barbados Airport on Friday and there was free wifi anywhere in the terminal

From memory you access the Cloud network at MacDonalds. It is possible that airport locations don't have it though-only way to know for sure would be to contact their head office and ask.

I've certainly accessed it at "normal" McDonald's branches. I'm fairly sure Wetherspoons do it too.

Not all Mc D's offerit and probably not so in Airports as theyre is usually a Pay services here and Mc D's would probably breaching a contract set out by the airport or maybe not wanting a load of free loaders sitting in their restaraunt and not buying anything :p
  • Wetherspoons have free Wifi at their pubs EXCEPT at Airports. Maybe it's the same for MuckDonald's

But how do you know that my name is not a nom de pseud...?!
  • I'm not sure Mc Donalds offer it in all restaurants - certainly not in airports which are left clear for the likes of T Mobile to make a killing.

I have accessed it before at Mc Donalds on my Windows Mobile Phone. It was through The Cloud and was literally just a case of going on Opera, and I was on.

That's true. You have badgered me into revealing that my sneakily-withheld first name is Snow. Doh! :o
