I have had an email from notify@ebay.replyid65435.com see below excerpt:-
Valued eBay Member,
We are contacting you to remind you that on 05 JUN 2005 we identified some unusual activity in your account coming from a foreign IP address :
capitol.guatemala-203-pc.in ( IP address located in India ) . We have been notified that a card associated with your account has been reported as lost or stolen and involved in fraudulent transactions, or that there were additional problems with your card.
According to our site policy you will have to confirm that you are the real owner of the eBay account by completing the following form or else your account will be marked as fraudulent , and will remain open for investigation. You will pay for the fees wich will result from the financial transactions between eBay and FIT ( Fraud Investigations Team )
Has anyone else had this message? Is it a scam to get my bank details - who should I contact to check. Any help much appreciated - Thanks

Scam...it starts off with 'valued ebay member', that should be enough to warn you.
Delete it and forget it.

yeah forget it!!
especially if they dont know your ebay id, ebay always say that they will never ask you for your password, bank details or any other personal information through email!
its the scammers way of getting all your details and either hacking into your account or using your card details.0 -
Also, 'or else' ought to read 'otherwise' and 'wich' should be 'which'. Both in final paragraph.
These scammers just can't write English correctly!0 -
Scam - Paypal and Ebay will Never ask you to confirm via a link in an email - and they address you by your name - permanently delete it off your computer straight away !0

Thank you everyone - now deleted!!0

forward the message as is to spoof@ebay.co.uk
(or spoof@paypal.com for PayPal spoofs).

There's no need to read any further ... did you really need to ask the question?bargainbasement wrote:I have had an email from notify@ebay.replyid65435.com
Ebay are not going to send e-mails from an address "replyid65435.com".0 -
yes I did need to ask the question otherwise I wouldn't have would I??!!! ........Did you really need to ask that question????
No need for sarcasm.......0 -
Hi Bargain Basement - I think it's always worth asking such questions and they serve to help others in a similar predicament - not everyone on these biards is an old e bay pro after all. I had to warn a relative of this only the other day so there are still plenty who are unaware of such practices!! Well done for binning it.
