Ha I didn't need to think about it for too long.:D Ran like the wind!!!
All bathed and ready for tomorrow. I am a bit worried about the icy conditions...so will be leaving at 7.20....hope little DS can manage to get up...he is very lazy!!
Have written a list of things I need to to this weekend ad feel fairly organised.
Tea tonight was pot luck from the freezer....I got chicken curry and rice,;) they got pork casserol and mash...am looking forward to making some more "ready meals" for the freezer when I get paid.
Makes life a little easier sometimes.

Slow cooker is on, had my lovely cup of tea and checked the banking and scratch.
Nothing really happend banking wise..only one direct debit left to come out this month, and Hubby has strict instructions not to use his debit card...or I will chop his fingers off!!
My car is de iced, facing the correct way in the drive (hubby is a love really!) and all hats and scarfs, coats etc warming in the utility. Pack ups and school bags are in the car..DS1 is notorious for not picking his up!
So I am off to get them up, and then we are off. Really tired and pleased its the weekend. Have a confession later....its exciting but certainly not MSE!!LBM Total: £33356 15/11/09  £6085.63 paid

Had a busy day at work today...and it took ages to get home. Plan for tonight is dinner and wine!!
Well Hubby got confirmation of his bonus this week, and I know we really should be paying off the MBNA, and to get that under 10k would be amazing, but we are going to book a holiday instead.
I know the right thing to do would be to chuck it all at the debt, but I want to go away with the boys whilst I can.
Feel a little daft and guilty, as this could make our debt free date come a little closer....but had big chat to Hubby last night and we really want to pay off the debt, but are taking the more scenic approach to getting debt free.
So the deal is as long as we are over paying the debts by over £150 every month, then we are going to use this extra money for family things.
Aghhhh hope you don’t think I am stupid !!:oLBM Total: £33356 15/11/09  £6085.63 paid

I had to re-read that as I thought his bonus must have been over £20k! You can see maths is not my strong point
I think you have to do what's right for you and your family Chops.
For me, working 5 days a week instead of 4 would bring my DF date closer, but would mean I'd lose precious time away from my little girl who is not even 4. Once I deduct the extra childcare costs too, it's not worth it.
You have to weigh up what's important in life and you'll have the memories of the holiday for many years to come - when you're debt free.
In a few years, your boys might not want to go away with you, so the window of opportunity is short and you're right to take it :T
Where are you planning to go?0 -
Ha oh I wish it was 20k...that would be lovely.
I do feel bad, and really want to get rid of this debt, but I do want to live and enjoy my family...and I know they wont be wanting to hang around with us forever..
Looking at Spain, Menorca, Ibiza, not to far as only get a week due to shifts.
I am determind to make sure it doesn't got on a credit card, and all our spending money etc is saved.
So I am also not making inroads in my debt.. feels like I am reversing!!LBM Total: £33356 15/11/09  £6085.63 paid

Hi Chops!
Welcome to the world of Martin Lewis and all that is holy and MoneySaving!
Credit Card debt is my downfall also. Figure I probably have been spending on credit cards for 15 years if not longer. Well, wham bam thank you mam - NO MORE! I haven't spent for over a year and OK my overdraft has suffered but its better than increasing the credit card debt and earning the banks even more spondoolies in interest.
I think that seeing as you have cut the credit card spending, generally cutting back, being frugal on the shopping and meal planning, that I too would go on holiday. If you were still living the life of riley with your head in the sand and your butt in the air then no, the money should go on the debt.
Good luck and I look forward to following your diary.** Proud to be dealing with my debts **LBM - Jan 2009 _pale_ : £24,802.21 :eek:February 2010 :silenced: : £18,078.47 (not including OD)July 2010= £16,819.34 (not including OD)

Thanks Golden Goose...I actually felt a bit ill posting the holiday bit...bu no point in writing if I am not being truthfull.
I have changed, and I really am so determind to stick to the budget, and stop spending more than we are earning!!
This has been our problem, not looking at how much we actually have to spend a month.
My head is no longer in th sand..glad your sorting your credit cards too. I actually look forward to getting the bills in now, so I can go snowball and update my signiture!!LBM Total: £33356 15/11/09  £6085.63 paid
