Now that's what I really call flying! All I have left to do is some filing which i'll do after I've made the monsters their tea. Posting to USA will have to wait until the last book I've ordered for my sister arrives - that was an extra though so once I've filed I can claim a star!!! About time too....lets see if I can manage more than one this week.
Off to collect DS and test DD on her tables on the way......what a fun life I lead xx0 -

One freegle collection organised (someone who regularly picks up from here, so no issues with directions/timing etc...)
Half kitchen surfaces & tiles now cleaned. Just waiting for latest bit to dry so I can put stuff back and do the main bit of surface & window sill. I suppose I'll have to do the window while the sill is clear, as this window is difficult to get at...0 -

Achieved well today - crossed off check fire alarms as the fire brigade came to do a free safelty check on Sat night, so they tested everything for us! DD had a good report (a little less backchat and it would be even better):rolleyes:
Spent the day at the beauty counters with my friend - I think it was fun, I have never worn make upand was unwilling to face the scary women on my own :eek:so a friend took me

Jassa - well done to your bro on the championship!
MumonaM - hope your little one gets better PDQ
Carlsberggal - big hugs on your news. As other's have said, it's not the end of the world. These things can be worked through. But she's the one to have to make the decision I'm afraid and it's your job to support her in whatever she decides. I'm sure it'll all work out fine in the end xxx
Happy birthday to your baby Jinky and to your Moomin Piggers
Ishtar - healing vibes for your little one
Welcome nikki2
Well I have not flown. I have had a Bad Bad Bad Day.
Dear (?) BB managed to take a chunk out of my arm this morning when I was trying to extract a pair of socks from her. That's strapped up with Melolin as it's an open wound and ordinary plasters were sticking to it. It's sore, but manageable.
Then my new post? Looks great on paper but, I think, will be mind numbingly boring. It's typical non-commercial stuff. Almost civil service in that there are five people to do what one capable and astute person could do in the same time. I've even been told that if there's a training course I fancy going on, I can - all in paid time. !!!!!!? But still, I'll stick it out until the New Year.
Then, this afternoon, when I finished, I got home, changed and decided to go deliver some more leaflets (for a community meeting next week). Didn't take the dog as she slowed me up too much yesterday.
Someone - and I know the exact address! Has a killer step which catches posties and deliverers unawares. Mind you, I think it probably only catches them once. It's right on the gate. You are so busy working out how to open the gate that you don't see it. Woosh, down I went, almost. Ankle turned and it was only the fact I was still holding onto the gate that I didn't go all the way down. Cue a lot of swearing, a hobble to the letter box, a hobble back, shut gate and then sit on low wall next door cursing some more in some pain.... Then the heavens opened.
I sat there for about five minutes thinking and wincing. There was a little factory up the road which possibly had a first aider. If I'd thought to put my mobile in my pocket I could have phoned NN to come pick me up. I had change for a phone box but there were none nearby and I was about 3/4 of a mile from home. I nearly cried. Honestly, I nearly cried sitting there in pain on that little low wall and getting wet at the same time....
But, Soappie's made of sterner stuff. So I picked myself up, and hobbled home, delivering as I went - how's that for service to the community?
The ankle is now nicely swollen, strapped up and an ice pack is currently applied. It's also hurting more and bruising is beginning to come out. But it's not broken, I'm sure. Hey ho, I'm sure my Dad's walking stick will come in useful tomorrow if needs be.
Oh dear, I don't know where all that came from. I'm sorry, it just needed blurting out. I think I shall go and wallow and say hello to Gordon...I am the leading lady in the movie of my life

Huge hugs for you Soappie.
Busy here, but my cold is easing. My sister is off travelling for a while and I am looking after her stuff. Bags and bags and bags of books that I need to find a safe dry home for. Obviously I need to read them all first though to make sure none of the words are missing :A.'If you have a garden and a library, you have everything you need' Marcus Tullius Cicero0 -
Hugs soappie - hope there's no lasting damage.
Welcome nikki2804 and anyone else I may have missed
This evening I have supervised DS cooking fajitas for tea, put tea things in the dishwasher and folded some washing.
Am now going to put my feet up in front of the TV, look at recipes books and do some meal planning.Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!0
